Is she really posting? Can it be? How many people are actually still reading this thing?
It seems like overnight Ike has a whole new vocabulary. Last night I was reading in The Baby Book that between six and nine months (for those of you who are counting, he'll be 7 months next Sunday), babies will start using more consonant sounds, and babbling, trying out actual word sounds. It got me to thinking that Ike isn't really much of a babbler yet. He's always been pretty vocal, but up until now his repertoire has been more of "aaah-goo," "ga" and "pllllllp" (that's a raspberry). This morning, though, as he crawled around (well, slid around on his belly like the ghost from the movie, The Grudge) the guest room/office/studio pulling down magazines and trying to impale himself on various rulers and pointy objects, he was actually talking to himself: "ah la gagaga ba da yayaya." Then he'd look at me with a huge smile like he was waiting for me to respond. Which, of course, I did, in the same language: "ah lalala ma ma ga bo." I'm not sure what I said, but I think it must have been, "Crawl under the bed and see if you can get stuck where Mom can't reach you."
